About the work: This is an arrangement for Voice and String Orchestra of the Ave Maria by Charles Gounod. It was originally written for solo voice and piano, and composed on the 1st prelude, in C major, of the Well-tempered clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach. Gounod changed the C major original key of Bach's Prelude to F major, which has been preserved in this arrangement.
